Is God Calling You Forward?
If you’ve ever felt called toward pastoral ministry, church planting, or church revitalization in Chicago, we hope you’ll take some time this summer to pray about where the Lord might be leading you. And if you’re ready to take a step, considering joining our Church Leadership Cohort and learn and walk alongside a great group of peers. We’d love to invest in your training, connection, and discernment this coming year.

Lecrae in Chicago
Lecrae and family made a summer visit to Chicago this past week and had this to say about their time here:
”I wanted to take my kids to a city that has shaped so much of my life over the years. So we came to Chicago not just to see it, but to serve it.
We partnered with @legacydisciple so my kids could experience what it means to love and serve a city in an urban context. We worshiped with @progressivechicago and @charliedates, and we had to stop by @kenspirationkitchen to learn from one of Chicago’s best in the kitchen.
Honestly, it felt like the best way to experience a city: not just taking in what it has to offer, but giving something back. Serving “the least of these” while also enjoying the beauty, culture, and richness of the city itself.
Chicago, thank you for helping shape me. It meant a lot to let my kids experience a piece of that too. Major love to Brian and Heidi Dye in the Chi!”
Lecrae will be back on August 22nd as a featured speaker at the Chicago Legacy Conference alongside Amy Ayala. Learn more and get your tickets at legacydisciple.org/conferences!

Interview with Dr. Vince Bacote
A new episode of the Legacy Disciple Podcast features Dr. Vince Bacote in a timely conversation with Omar Jackson on faith in the public square. Together, they explore what it means to follow Jesus with conviction, humility, and wisdom in a divided world.
This is a thoughtful episode for anyone seeking to engage culture without losing sight of the gospel. Check out the full conversation here.
J29 Pastors Cohort
Many pastors are asking how to faithfully disciple their congregations through a polarized culture without being captured by partisan tribes. Caleb Campbell, a featured speaker this spring in our Lead the City Conversations series, founded the J29 Coalition, a network of theologically conservative pastors and scholars working to disciple the American evangelical church in kingdom-shaped politics.
Their next cohort launches August 27 and includes a Civil Rights immersion trip and ten coaching sessions with scholars and practitioners like Justin Giboney and Malcolm Foley, along with Chicagoland locals like David French, David Swanson, and Kaitlyn Schiess. Thanks to donor support, scholarships are available, so participants only cover travel costs. Twelve spots remain.
If you or a pastor you know would benefit from this kind of formation and community, visit j29coalition.com.
